Individual Education Plans (IEP) are becoming more and more common for students who experience learning challenges in the classroom.

 

IEPs are fantastic resources designed to ensure that your child's needs are being met through regular teacher-parent conferences, modified learning expectations, and updated learning goals.

IEP Consultation

Did you know the IEP is a legal, binding contract between parents and your child's school?

 

Educators have a responsibility to work closely with the expectations of the IEP; however, classrooms are at capacity and teachers and special education teachers are not always able to manage each IEP effectively.

I offer IEP consultations with families who need:

  • help understanding the jargon ("What does this mean?")

  • to ensure the expectations match their child's abilities
    (too easy, too hard)

  • another set of eyes and ears during parent-teacher conferences

  • a person to advocate on behalf of your child for a different approach, expectations

  • a tutoring plan designed to following classroom and IEP expectations from term-to-term
